There are five options for international students interested in studying at TIU.
1. Direct Enrollment:
If you understand Japanese you can enroll directly into TIU’s undergraduate or graduate school. Please contact the Admissions Office (in Japanese) for the necessary enrollment documents and procedure.
2. English Track Program (E-Track)
In this undergraduate program, students can obtain a Bachelor’s degree in English while learning a practical Japanese language. The program provides two majors: Business Economics and International Relations. Japanese language proficiency or previous Japanese experience is not required at enrollment.
3. Japanese Studies Program
The Japan Studies Program is for students who wish to do a semester or year long study abroad program at TIU, then return home to complete their degree. To participate in the JSP you must be currently enrolled in a college or university outside of Japan. The JSP website contains
information on the program requirements and application procedure.
4. Graduate School of Economics English Language Program
TIU’s Graduate School of Economics offers an English-based Economics Program. No Japanese is required. Links to a pdf version of the program guide and application form can be found on the left hand side of this page.
5. Japanese Language School
If you wish to study Japanese before entering TIU, please contact our affiliated Japanese Language School. The language school prepares students for taking university courses in Japanese. Graduates of the school are given priority enrolment into TIU.
