Kawagoe City, where TIU is located, is known as a castle town where a traditional Edo atmosphere is preserved. You can enjoy finding traditional Japanese culture, such as streets lined with merchant houses with kura (storehouse), maze of alleys, and old historic buildings. Many fashionable and amusement buildings have recently been constructed in Kawagoe, which is why it is attracting attention as an information exchange hub. As part of the Gendai GP program, a "Support project for Kawagoe, small Edo, to become an international city" is underway.
