To pursue people’s well-being, both from the viewpoints of welfare and psychology and nurturing expertise and comprehensive techniques as professionals.
We currently face various problems, such as an aging society, bullying issues, and discrimination. To find ways to solve these, we must study the relationship between humans and society from the viewpoint of welfare (what it means to live with other people) and psychology (the nature of the mechanism of our mind). In the Department of Social Welfare and Psychology, the curriculum is based on the concept that these two viewpoints are essentials. Furthermore, they can explore a new field of study in conjunction with the Department of Sociology and Comparative Culture and base their research on broader frames such as society and cultures. If you wish to pursue the path of social welfare by studying psychology or study psychology from a practical perspective, this department will fulfill your wish.
Social work and psychology are the backbone of learning
With specialized subjects on social work consisting of theories, practical training, and qualification, as well as subjects on clinical psychology covering the basics, applications, experiments, and practical training, the department fosters personnel with flexible mindsets and the ability to act with understanding of both welfare and psychology.
Acquiring an executive ability with various experiments and training
By combining lectures, seminars, experiments and training effectively, the students can acquire practical expertise and techniques, as well as learn the latest theories. They will also develop the ability to act promptly and solve problems, coping properly with various issues that present a multitude of complicated themes.
