Dr. Gill Steel
Gill Steel received her B.A. in Government from the University of Essex, and her M.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago. She earned her Ph.D in Political Science in 2002 from the University of Chicago. Her dissertation Gender and the Vote in Japan, Britain and the United States analyzes gender differences in voting in a cross-nation context.

In addition to teaching in several Universities in Nagoya, Gill spent eighteen months conducting field research in Tokyo where she was a Japanese Ministry of Education Graduate Research Fellow at Rikkyo University.

She is currently a the recipient of a Dissertation Writing Fellowship from the Japan Foundation (East Asian Studies, University of Chicago) and a Fellow at the Gender Studies Center at the University of Chicago. Her research interests include voting behavior, public opinion and gender.
