Enrollment Process
Those students accepted for admission will be mailed the following documents to prepare for their arrival and participation soon after the end of the application period. Deadlines for returning the forms to Tokyo International must be strictly observed. To study at Tokyo International University you will need to apply for a "college student" visa.This process will take over two months including receiving your Certificate of Eligibility from Japan and then applying for the "College Student" visa in your home country.


Enrollment Documents

Copy of Passport
(page with name and other details only) Students who do not have a passport should apply for one and inform the JSP program that this information will be delayed.

Oath of Financial Accountability (with supporting documents)
This form must be completed by the person who holds the necessary funds, will cover the expenses for your study at TIU, and must be accompanied by official supporting documents demonstrating that the necessary funds are available for the student's use. Supporting documents that are acceptable are: Recent bank statement(s) from the person who has signed the oath showing required amount. A letter from home university stating that scholarships the student is rece. iving may be used at overseas institutions. This letter should include the amount(s) of the scholarship(s) and payment date(s). A letter from home university stating that the financial aid the student is receiving may be used at overseas institutions. This letter should include the amount of the financial aid and the payment date(s) A combination of the any or all of the above

Homestay Personal Data Form and Letter to Host Family
This information will be used to match students with a host family, please be honest and give as much detail as possible to allow us to make a successful match. If possible, the accompanying letter introducing you to your host family should be written in Japanese.

Semester/Vacation Address Form
We must have current email and mailing addresses on file at all times. The Certificate of Eligibility and other important information will be sent to the address indicated on this form.

Eight Passport Photos
3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (1.4 inches x 1.8 inches). All photos must be recent, with no background scenery, and must show the face fully and clearly (no hats should be worn). Your shoulders must also be visible in the picture. Please write your name and nationality in the center on the back of each photo. These photos will be used on all documents and IDs. No snapshot or color-copied photos are acceptable.

7.

Course Pre-Registration Academic Contract
(signed) Please read the academic contract carefully before signing and returning it to the JSP program. We will expect you to uphold all conditions stated on this form.

8. Japanese Instructor Comment Sheet
Have your current Japanese language teacher (if applicable) fill out this form and mail it directly to us (provide a stamped envelope with the JSP address on it). Students who have taken any Japanese language courses are required to submit this form. The information contained in this form will be used for better organizing the Japanese language courses Japanese .

10. Certificate of Health
A physician must complete all parts of this form.
