JSP - Japan Studies Program
Tokyo International University
Application FAQ
Question
Can I receive credit at my home school for courses I take in Japan?
Answer
We cannot control how many or which TIU credits your home institution will accept for credit. Students need to contact their advisor, the chairperson of their major, and registrar at their school to set up credit transfer BEFORE coming to Japan. The FIRST person you should contact on your campus is your STUDY ABROAD ADVISOR!

Question
Can I use my financial aid to study on the JSP?
Answer
Most institutions allow students to use at least a portion, sometimes all of their current financial aid package to study abroad (grants, loans, scholarships). Students need to contact their study abroad office and financial aid office to see what the policies of their institution are. Sometimes a consortium agreement is necessary. We have one prepared to use if needed.
