Dalian University of Technology enforces UMTP modeling Certifications

UMTP-I delegates visited Dalian University of Technology on July 14^th, 2006 and met Prof. Xue  Qiang, Vice Dean of School of Software to promote active collaborations on the sharing of UMTP-I modeling certification programs. 

 

Prof. Xue Qiang and Mr Namio Ueno, President of UMTP-I  signed on a MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) which allows that the School of Software of Dalian University of Technology will develop a Web-based testing system and provide it to enable UMTP-I modeling certifications on their standard curricula. The new system will be cut off in early October, 2006.

 

Prof. Xue Qiang also said the certification system should be used widely in other universities or companies in China as well. For the moment, some other university in Dalian should be investigating to share the system and certification contents.

 

So far, UMTP-I certifications program has been implemented in China under the support by UMTP-China (UMT-ECC of Wuhan University and ASTI Shanghai) since Feb. 10^th, 2006 through the network by Peason-Vue, which is a world wide test distribution company.

 

However, to cope with rapid proliferation of UML and modeling technologies in China, UMTP-I decided to allow participation of academic organizations which are capable of promoting adoption of modeling technologies in their local business activities.
