Why have a homepage?

Homepages can be an extension of traditional classroom materials:

• textbook
• handouts
• writing on the blackboard
• OHP
• cassette tapes
• video tapes

Self publishing costs for homepage making are negligible, distribution to students is easy, no money need be exchanged.

Homepage can contain:

1. teacher produced materials
2. student produced materials
3. materials from other sources (used with permission)
4. resource links to other materials
5. any combination of the above
6. password access can be added

Additional advantages:

• Materials on homepage are easy to update
• Cost of updating is negligible
• Class homepage can be linked into TIU homepage (or not)

Disadvantages:

• Copyright issues
• Difficult to archive the evolution of a class' homepage
