Bulletin Board
First of all, I don't belong to any clubs and circles in TIU. The reason
why is, just that I want to have time for myself as much as possible, for
anything I want to do. It might be sleeping, or it could be some hobbies,
or hopefully studying.
Yet, at TIUA, I was forced
to belong to the basketball club by my friend. This club started from
less than 10 members, but now, its over 20. There are bunches
of clubs here in TIUA and the most active clubs are, I think, the soccer
club, and the basketball club.
I still think English conversation is not so easy. Most TIUA students, including
me, still have pronounciation problems, grammar problems, and vocabulary
problems. We must push ourselves hard to speak English in order to develop
our English skills. But we can communicate with Americans somehow because
they are professional English speakers.
In the state of Oregon, it is not allowed for under 21 years old to drink.
There is no vending machine which sells beer and
we need to show an ID card to buy beer at stores so that emplyees
can make sure that it is legal. It might sound
like I am exaggerating, yet it is true. However,
people here can smoke from 19 years old. Those are the examples of the biggest
cultural differences that I have found. By the way, I am now working on
seminar paper on the topic of alcohol and if you
have a time please fill out my survey below.
That will be great.
